but to be honest , there's no way to recover your deleted messages from years ago .
but it's useful for recently deleted messages . i think some days ago .
to know how to recover deleted facebook messages , follow these steps :

Click on download a copy, you will see it under language bar .
3.
Click start my archive .
4.
Again Click start my
archive .

Click ok

Again Go to your settings .

Click on download a copy .

Deletei wanna ask you some questions :
1. do this message (webpage not found) appear when you click on another words (friends,photos, videos...etc ) ?
2. do this message (webpage not found) appear when you open another sites on the internet
.............................................................
i suggest some solutions :
1. you can try another browser
2. go to your folder which you extract your archive
but now don't open index
open html folder
then open messages .
try more browsers to do this .
3.delete your archive and download it again .
4.try to clean your computer from cookies and history .
5.change dns to open all sites .

so your solution
open the index when it be on the same folder of archive
or delete your archive and download it again .
(the second choice is the best )
i had conversation with a friend and 1 day later I wanted to see what the answer to my question was but the whole conversation was gone, I tried to retrieve it the way you have it posted but it is not there what else can i do?

Chucky, help! When I downloaded my archive (several times), in the message bar it does not show me messages, it says :"There was an error loading the data for this page. We are sorry for the inconvenience and are working to fix the problem." How can this be fixed? I really need to retrieve a deleted message from a month ago. Is that possible?

I would like to know if a facebook archive can be done twice. Let's say I archived my data and retrieved the deleted messages that I wanted to see. But I accidentally erase something again ... can the facebook archive be reset and downloaded twice?
